HGV Technician
Salary: Up to 59,000 OTE
Basic Salary: 38.5k – 42.6 (depending on experience and qualifications)
Alecto Recruitment is working with our client to find a Skilled and Flexible HGV Technician in the Heathrow area.
- Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on HGVs.
- Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues.
- Conduct gearbox and engine replacements.
- Be part of a team committed to excellence and furthering your skills through our Multi-Manufacturer Training Program.
- Potential to be part of the breakdown/on-call rota, offering roadside assistance.
Working Hours:
- Basic Hours: 40 hours per week, on a rotating early-late shift:
- Early: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
- Late: Monday to Friday, 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm
- Late Shift Payment: 25 per night (up to 3,000 annually).
- Overtime: Available at 1.5x the basic hourly rate.
- On-call roadside assistance rota: Standby rates of 25 per night + overtime at 1.5x after 40 hours, and Double Time on bank holidays.
Requirements:
- Relevant qualification or proven technical experience in HGV maintenance and repair.
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- A team player who can work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations.
Preferred (but not essential) Requirements:
- Level 3 Qualification in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
- HGV/LGV/PCV Licence.
- Roadside Assistance Training.
- IRTEC Accreditation (training is available if needed).
- Experience with bus or coach repairs.
