RDM Designer

Our client is a global leader in IT services, consulting, and digital transformation. They work with clients to modernize their businesses using innovative technology solutions across various industries. We are seeking a talented RDM Designer to join their team in London for a 6-month contract, working on a high-profile project that requires Security Clearance at the SC level., The RDM Designer will be responsible for designing and implementing relational database models that ensure data integrity, performance optimization, and security for a large-scale, complex system. This individual will work closely with technical architects, database administrators (DBAs), and stakeholders to deliver high-quality data models that meet the business needs of our client., * Data Model Design: Design, develop, and maintain relational data models to support business processes, ensuring data integrity, scalability, and performance.

• Schema Development: Collaborate with DBAs and developers to create logical and physical data schemas.

• Optimization: Work on performance tuning and query optimization to ensure efficient data retrieval and storage.

• Data Integrity: Implement normalization and indexing strategies to maintain the consistency and reliability of data.

• Collaboration: Engage with cross-functional teams including business analysts, software engineers, and project managers to gather requirements and translate them into technical designs.

• Compliance: Ensure database designs adhere to industry best practices and align with security standards, particularly for SC clearance requirements.

• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data models, schemas, and database structures.

• Proven experience in relational database design, modelling, and implementation, preferably in large-scale enterprise environments.

• Expertise in database technologies such as Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.

• Strong knowledge of SQL and database performance tuning techniques.

• Familiarity with data normalization, indexing, and query optimization.

• Experience working with cross-functional teams and translating business needs into technical requirements.

• Security Clearance (SC): Must hold or be eligible for SC clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in data warehousing or data migration projects.

• Knowledge of cloud-based databases such as AWS RDS or Azure SQL.

• Familiarity with ETL processes and tools.

• Previous experience working in government or defence sectors is a plus.
