Phoenix is a Yacht management Company, based in Dubai, the rising hub of luxury yachting. Phoenix is at the centre of every need when it comes to yachting management, sales, charter and much more. Our vastly experienced and highly qualified team equips us with an extensive range of services, covering all areas of yacht management. We are currently seeking an Operational Superintendent to join our growing and dynamic Company. This position is full time; applicants wishing to work remotely may apply. The ideal candidate will have a Captain / Chief Officer background or previous yacht management experience. This position is full time and will be office based in Dubai.
Objectives of this role
Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will be working closely with a team of specialist managers who will support you in the functions, which require their expertise. The operational superintendent will be responsible for a number of vessels and will act as the primary point of contact for the vessel and the management team. The duties will include but are not limited to the following :
- Operational overview of a number of vessels within the fleet
- You will be responsible for monitoring the yachts budgeting set up, review of invoices and comply with the company management systems
- Preparation of monthly management meetings as well as vessel inspection reports
- Ensure the vessel adheres to Class and Flag requirements
- Monitor set-up, implementation of all on board management documentation, standards and practices
- Technical support with the assistance from the Technical Superintendent
- Yacht / crew insurance selection as well as monitoring claims management
- Oversight of security management / ISPS and Safety Management / ISM
- Monitor the vessel work list set up
- Crew management, including interviews and training.
Required skills and qualifications
Minimum of 5 years sea-going experience in a senior position, the ideal candidate will come from a Captain or Chief Officer background or previous yacht management experience. You will have excellent relationship management skills as well as the ability to communicate with people at all levels verbal and written. Competent at problem solving as well as multi task abilities. Able to travel worldwide at short notice, as and when required. Proficient with many different business IT systems, computer literacy Microsoft Package. Good command of English and report writing. A competitive related salary will be offered to the right candidate based on relevant experience and qualifications.
