We are guided by the joy of cats, sharing our expertise, making life easier for our community, and the importance of feeding cats something that's healthy and that they absolutely love. We're an early-stage business – less than a year into trading – but we have big ambitions. As the sister brand to Butternut Box, we're proud to bring the same passion, quality and customer obsession to a new world of cat lovers. With a strong foundation and bold growth plans, this is a rare opportunity to shape the future of a brand at a truly exciting moment in its journey.

A bit about the role: As Head of Growth, you'll play a critical role in shaping and delivering Marro's growth trajectory as we scale our feline-first business. Reporting directly to the Marro Managing Director, you'll build and execute a sustainable, data-driven growth strategy, working across multiple channels and collaborating closely with our Direct Sales, Brand, Digital Product and Operations teams. This is a high-impact, hands-on role for someone ready to help lead a fast-paced, early-stage business with bold ambitions in the UK and beyond.

What you'll do:

  • Growth Strategy & Planning: Define and own Marro's overarching growth strategy across acquisition, retention, and expansion channels. Set KPIs, prioritise key initiatives, and measure impact against commercial goals. Maintain a clear roadmap that balances short-term performance with long-term brand building. Leverage the knowledge, infrastructure and customer insights from Butternut Box to accelerate Marro's growth trajectory, identifying synergies and shared learnings.
  • Customer Acquisition: Drive acquisition through digital and non-digital channels, working in partnership with our Brand Marketing and Direct Sales teams. Explore and test new customer acquisition tactics – from influencer collaborations and partnerships to grassroots activations and content-led strategies.
  • Retention & CRM: Develop and oversee our customer retention and lifecycle marketing efforts including email, SMS and loyalty. Collaborate with the Customer Love and Operations teams to continuously improve customer experience, reduce churn and increase lifetime value.
  • Website & Conversion Optimisation: Own the commercial performance of our website and work closely with our Product Engineering teams to align on strategies, priorities and experiments. Implement data-driven A/B testing, funnel analysis and CRO tactics to improve conversion rates.
  • Retail & International Expansion: Scope, validate and help lead the execution of new growth channels including UK retail partnerships and international market entry. Build a deep understanding of target markets and work cross-functionally to adapt messaging, logistics and fulfilment accordingly.
  • Data, Insights & Reporting: Develop robust performance reporting to track ROI across growth initiatives. Champion a test-and-learn culture, using insights to refine tactics and inform decisions.
  • Team & Culture: Help build and lead a best-in-class Growth function as the business scales. Champion cross-functional collaboration with Brand, Digital Product, Customer and Creative teams. Support and coach others across the business on growth best practices.

A bit about you: You've led growth or marketing in a high-growth, DTC or subscription business (bonus points for food or pet-related brands). You're highly data-literate, commercially-minded and comfortable owning ambitious KPIs. You bring strong experience across CRM, acquisition, digital marketing, conversion rate optimisation and/or offline growth channels. You've collaborated with Product and Tech teams and understand how to balance growth priorities with long-term customer experience. You can build high-trust relationships quickly and work cross-functionally with creative, commercial and operational teams. You care deeply about brand, customers and impact — and want to do work that has meaning. You're a cat lover who understands the special bond between humans and their feline family members — and can build a brand that tugs at the heartstrings of our audience.

Logistics: This is a hybrid role, working 3 days per week from our White City (London) office – Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (non-negotiable). Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.

A bit about what we offer: Equity option package, 25 days holiday (plus 8 bank holidays), 5 paws days, and an extra day for each year of service, £500 personal learning & development budget, Butternut Box / Marro employee discount, Subsidised Private Medical Insurance with Vitality, Cycle to work scheme, Flexible working with hybrid remote working, Team socials, plus company-wide summer and winter parties.
