Application Configuration Engineer – SC Cleared | Hybrid – Barrow-in-Furness & Preston

£425 per day via Umbrella

40/50% on-site in Barrow-in-Furness & Preston

Active SC clearance required

6-month contract supporting a high-profile defence programme

ABOUT THE CLIENT:

Our client delivers advanced engineering and digital solutions to the defence and maritime sectors, contributing to some of the UK’s most sensitive and high-impact programmes. Due to increasing demand on a flagship project, they are now seeking a Configuration Engineer to optimise and automate key toolsets across NX and Teamcenter in line with programme-specific requirements.

THE CONFIGURATION ENGINEER:

• Customise Siemens NX and Teamcenter tools using NXOpen scripting to automate and streamline delivery
• Configure and author Check-Mate rules to align with OEM-approved standards and programme-specific requirements
• Engage with the programme delivery team to gather needs and develop bespoke NX solutions
• Identify further automation opportunities through proactive improvement of existing NX workflows
• Provide training and knowledge sharing on NXOpen and Check-Mate tools to internal teams
• Support overall digital design enablement for a submarine structures programme

CONFIGURATION ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

• Advanced knowledge of Siemens NX and Teamcenter
• Expertise in NXOpen scripting and/or NX Check-Mate customisation
• Proven ability to align engineering toolsets with OEM standards
• Experience capturing and translating programme requirements into technical solutions
• Submarine structures or defence engineering background beneficial
• Confident delivering user training and mentoring others
• Must hold active SC clearance
