We are looking for a highly organised and meticulous Assistant Accountant to support the Finance Director in the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation, ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions.
This role can be either full or part-time.
Someone with a strong analytical mindset with excellent communication skills and great time management are key to this role.
Key Responsibilities:-
Accounts Payable
- Process supplier invoices accurately and promptly.
- Match purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices.
- Prepare supplier payment runs and resolve invoice queries.
- Maintain up-to-date AP ledgers.
Accounts Receivable
- Credit control responsibilities β monitor customer payments and follow up on overdue debts.
- Reconcile customer accounts and maintain accurate AR records.
Cash Management
- Recording of cash book income/expenditure
- Process expenses and corporate card transactions.
Nominal Ledger/VAT & Month-End Support
- Post journals such as accruals, prepayments, and corrections.
- Assist with month-end/prep for monthly management accounts.
- VAT return prep and analysing of returns.
Administration & Support
- Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems.
- Reconciling weekly timesheets ready for monthly payroll
- Support the Finance Director with ad-hoc reports and tasks.
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in a finance or accounts administration role.
- Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (preferably Sage)
- Multi-tasking abilities and to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
