About the opportunity:
Due to increased orders, they are looking for a buyer who can buy a mix of common materials and niche products, from a range of existing and new suppliers.

You will be required to drive the supply chain to ensure materials are ordered and delivered on time for current and future projects.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage materials procurement for allocated projects balancing cost, quality, and availability to ensure the best value.
  • Provide an effective procurement capability to the production facility.
  • Update order availability in the ERP system.
  • Be a central point of contact for manufacturing and suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance, quality, cost, and capability reporting to the Head of Supply Chain and Manufacturing.
  • Mitigate supply chain risk through identification, evaluation and selection of suppliers whilst identifying and managing risks and opportunities.
  • Support the group procurement goals and objectives.

The person:

We are looking for someone with a broad understanding of procurement practices and materials management who has worked in a fast-paced, time-critical manufacturing/construction environment.

We need a strong team player with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels (both written and verbal). As well as someone who is an efficient and effective problem solver with good attention to detail.
