They are seeking an established Nuclear Safety Assurance professional with a robust background in submarine power plants, civil nuclear, or naval nuclear facilities. Your Day-to-Day Impact: You will be at the forefront of providing expert consultancy services to clients, utilising your deep understanding to: Lead and deliver high-quality systems assurance activities, including authoring safety management plans and undertaking detailed hazard and risk analyses. Derive and demonstrate compliance with safety requirements. Develop comprehensive safety cases and risk management plans. Author overarching safety assurance arguments and lead periodic safety reviews for equipment and facilities. Liaise with Regulators as necessary, defining scopes of work and work breakdown structures. Develop creative commercial strategies for successful new business acquisition. Act as a strong customer advocate, adept at understanding requirements, building professional relationships, and consistently delivering results. Communicate complex information clearly and effectively, both verbally and in written reports. Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering the next generation of talent.What You\’ll Bring: A Bachelor or Master of Engineering/Science Degree is essential. A minimum of six years\’ delivery experience in nuclear safety assurance. Proven expertise in delivering Systems Safety activities, encompassing operational safety case development, hazard listing, fault schedule development, safety case report authoring, HAZOP, Bow Tie analysis, and ALARP optioneering. Demonstrable experience in delivering Deterministic Safety Assessments, including design basis assessment, beyond design basis assessment, and safety functional requirement derivation. Sound knowledge of Authorising Conditions and Licensing Conditions for nuclear sites. Experience with PWR3 is desirable, as is the delivery of Probabilistic Safety Assessments and radiological consequence assessment. Client management and stakeholder engagement skills are beneficial, as is prior consultancy experience and Chartered Status with the UK Engineering Council.Location: This role offers flexibility with a blend of office-based work in Bristol, client site visits, and home working. Salary: £75,000 – £90,000 per annum, depending on experience. Security Clearance: Candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must satisfy UK National Security Vetting (SC) criteria.
