Class 2 Driver – £17 Per Hour – Avonmouth, Bristol

Salary: GBP17 per hour. The pay rate increases with contract progression; starting annual equivalent is £42,432 + overtime + quarterly bonuses. Roles are based at the depot in Avonmouth, Bristol.

• Role type: Temp to perm – after 12 weeks you will be offered a permanent contract directly with the client.
• Start times: 04:00–06:00. Average 50 hours per week. Monday to Friday only (no weekend work).
• Physical work: around 60% of the day spent loading and unloading; you will work with a driver’s mate at all times.
• Requirements: must pass drug & alcohol tests; Disclosure Scotland (DBS) clearance; transport-related checks as required.

As a Class 2 delivery driver, duties include:

• Completing up to 5 deliveries daily
• Manual loading and unloading (extensive training provided)
• Completing relevant paperwork
• Using PODs (proof of delivery)
• Providing excellent customer service

Candidate requirements:

• Category C driving licence with up-to-date CPC and Digi-Tacho cards
• No more than 6 points on the driving licence (only for minor offences)
• Physical fitness
• Reliability and trustworthiness
• Good customer service skills and willingness to represent client’s values
• Good spoken English

Pre-employment training:

• All drivers will need to pass a driving assessment (theory and practical) and a drug & alcohol test
• One week of training (mainly manual handling and safe lifting practices) before driving
