Are you passionate about developing the next generation of Residential Child Care professionals? We are looking for an experienced Residential Child Care Trainer/Assessor to support learners on their journey to achieving their qualifications.

Role Overview of the Residential Child Care Trainer/Assessor:

As a Trainer/Assessor, you will deliver high-quality training, coaching, and assessment to learners undertaking Residential Child Care (CYP) qualifications. You will guide them through their learning journey, ensuring they develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviours needed to succeed in their roles. This is a hybrid role, allowing you to work from home while travelling to conduct on-site learner observations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging training, coaching, and support to learners working towards Residential Child Care qualifications.
  • Conduct regular learner observations in the workplace, ensuring they are applying skills effectively.
  • Provide one-to-one and group support, tailoring learning to individual needs.
  • Ensure that learners meet their qualification requirements, supporting them through all aspects of their programme.
  • Embed Skills, Knowledge, and Behaviours (KSBs) into the curriculum, ensuring alignment with Apprenticeship Standards.
  • Support learners with portfolio building, functional skills integration, and End-Point Assessment (EPA) preparation.
  • Work closely with employers to ensure training meets workplace requirements and learners are progressing effectively.
  • Keep accurate records of learner progress, ensuring compliance with funding and awarding body requirements.
  • Stay up to date with sector changes, best practices, and safeguarding policies to enhance learner support.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A recognised Assessor qualification (e.g., TAQA, A1, D32/33) – essential
  • A Teaching qualification (e.g., PTLLS, AET) – desirable
  • Vocational experience working in a Residential Child Care setting
  • Level 3 Child Care qualification (Level 5 preferred)
  • A passion for developing others and making a difference in the sector
  • Own transport & flexibility to travel within a 2-hour radius
