RESOURCES YOU ARE DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR

Vehicle – including daily checks in line with BRC requirements and checks for road worthiness.

Stock: vehicle loading, in transit, delivery & put away

Pallet truck, Health and Safety (General)

Take responsibility for your own health and safety by acting in a measured and considered way and always keeping your own Health and Safety and that of those around you at the forefront of your thoughts.

Support the GM & Operations Manager.

Perform daily pre-use checks on the vehicle, one copy to be filed in site transport office.

Conform to safe driving practices at all times.
-
Where specific instructions relating to safe working practices are given, ensure that you do not deviate from the agreed process without consulting the GM beforehand.

Medicals – Ensure medically fit.

Manual Handling Training.
Vehicle
-
Ensure that vehicle is kept in a clean, tidy and in well- presented state.
-
Vehicle bed is to be swept clean prior to loading and stock is to be loaded and unloaded safely and free from any damage.

Ensure the correct paperwork is on the vehicle for the deliveries that day.
-
Customer collection must only be completed when prior authorisation has been agreed by the OM and the correct paperwork is on board.

Ensure all delivery notes are signed by the customer or in their absence by you with a date and time of delivery.

Report any vehicle or delivery issues to GM.

Vehicle loading & unloading, put away stock at Customers.

Work in warehouse & yard as required.

Digital Tachographs – Conform to legal requirements for hours travelled and break requirements. Provide data downloads via Taco Card to the GM.

CPC Training – intervals

Make sure pallet truck is safe and secure on the vehicle.
-
In conjunction with the GM plan routes to customers to avoid low bridges etc.

Work wear – Ensure company clothing is clean each day to maintain company image to customers.
Customer Service
-
Always communicate with customers in a polite and efficient manner.

Check all customer orders off the vehicle to maintain accurate deliveries
Fuel
- Keep a record of the amount of diesel used; fuel cards – fuel card slips to be handed in to GM daily as required.
Cover Requirements
- If the driving workload is light, you will be expected to help/ assist in the warehouse on cleaning duties or as directed by the GM or Operations Manager.
Training

Take the lead in your own professional development. Seek support and training when you believe it would be of benefit to the business and yourself.

Where training is provided, give it your full attention, and make every effort to benefit.

Undertake Drivers’ CPC training.
Dispak require an experienced LGV Class 2 Driver to join a small customer focused team in Whitchurch, Shropshire, delivering palletised goods to Customers across the Northern UK.
A clean driving licence is essential as is working knowledge of Digital Tachographs. Full or Partial Driver CPC qualification will be advantageous.

Pay rise, The successful candidate will be required to assist with loading at depot and will be solely responsible for unloading at customer’s premises, hence a high level of physical fitness is required as heavy lifting can be involved. Flexibility is key to the role as early starts are routine and overnights out are required (1-2 on average per week). Benefits include 25 days holiday per annum (3 days to be taken over Christmas shutdown) + Bank Holidays and access to the group pension scheme.
