12 Month Fixed Term Contract – X1 Positions Available We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Process Operator to join our Aerospace Textiles Cell at RLC Langford Lodge. In this role, you will be responsible for material preparation, inspection and quality control, assembly work, and equipment operation. Your main duties will include cutting, sealing, and preparing materials to specification, performing visual and manual inspections, assembling hardware components, and safely operating various cutting and sealing equipment. If you have experience in aerospace textiles or manufacturing environments, proficiency in using cutting tools and sealing machines, and a strong commitment to maintaining high quality standards, we would love to hear from you. Main Duties & Responsibilities Material Preparation: Cutting, sealing, and preparing materials to specification using various cutting equipment (manual and automated). Measuring and marking materials accurately to ensure compliance with production requirements. Checking materials for flaws, defects, and inconsistencies, recording any issues, and escalating when necessary. Inspection & Quality Control: Performing visual and manual inspections of components to ensure they meet the required quality standards. Recording and verifying work completed, ensuring compliance with aerospace quality procedures. Maintaining accurate records of inspections and material measurements. Assembly Work: Assembling hardware components (e.g., lugs, shackles) onto fabric sub-assemblies and assemblies. Following engineering drawings and job instructions to ensure precision during assembly. Equipment Operation: Safely operating cutting equipment, sealing tools, and other manual or automated processes. Ensuring equipment is used in accordance with proper procedures and reporting maintenance needs as required. General Tasks: Packing/unpacking components to meet company specifications. Following health and safety guidelines, wearing appropriate protective clothing/equipment, and maintaining a clean and organised work area. Performing any additional duties deemed necessary to support production activities. Advantageous Experience & Skills Familiarity with aerospace textiles or manufacturing environments. Proficiency in using cutting tools, sealing machines, and other material preparation equipment. Experience in inspecting and assembling small components with precision. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, production cards, and work instructions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards.
