Cadent Gas Ltd Job Purpose We are seeking a Physical Security Specialist to join our Operation Transformation Programme to support the Security Manager by providing security guidance, direction, and advice on personal, personnel, and physical security matters. The role involves ensuring effective planning and execution of team tasks, optimizing resource use, and timely delivery to customers. The ideal candidate will combine key knowledge with excellent communication skills, take ownership of specialist services, and deliver a trusted, quality experience. They will promote a positive safety culture, investigate and resolve complex issues, and contribute to strategic direction. The Physical Security Specialist will demonstrate Cadent Values, deliver exceptional customer service, and foster an inclusive environment. Key Responsibilities Relationship Management: Maintain security relationships with the wider energy sector, government departments, agencies, and the police, positioning Cadent as a ‘centre of excellence’ and ‘trusted friend.’ Team Integration: Serve as an integral member of the Cadent Digital, Risk, and Security Team, deputizing for the Security Manager when required. Advice & Guidance: Provide detailed advice and guidance to individuals and business functions through various channels, including web-based applications, policy development, and security reports. Training & Development: Support the delivery of training, assurance, and exercise programs, and pursue personal development opportunities to enhance professional skills and understanding of Cadent’s operations. Incident Support & Reporting: Assist in incident investigations, produce detailed reports on security topics, and present briefings to senior levels of the organization Special Accountabilities : Supporting Project Managers in Cadent’s Capital Delivery function in the delivery of major infrastructure projects e.g. HS2 and National Infrastructure protection Required to lead on designing, developing, implementing, and managing security programs and communications. Representing Cadent in several security related forums across the energy sector Developing a network of trusted contacts in the industry. Willingness to attain Gov level clearance Skills and Experience Qualifications Membership of an accredited institution – i.e. The Security Institute (or willing to work towards) Practical Experience Key security principles and knowledge through a proven track record
