Job Description

Programme Officer

Location: Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office (Hereford)

Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 per annum

Contract: 18-month fixed term

Our client, a leading organisation in the business change sector, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Programme Officer to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a digital transformation journey, working on a variety of projects with both in-house and 3rd party software development teams.

Key Responsibilities:

● Assist in defining project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders

● Manage key programme controls, including risk and issues log, project plans, and actions log

● Ensure appropriate project resources are available in coordination with the Delivery Manager

● Maintain and update project documentation using Google Workspace and Smartsheets

● Coordinate project meetings and take notes

● Monitor project progress, identify risks, and update the Project Manager/Product Owner

● Prepare and present progress reports, project briefs, and status updates to stakeholders

● Manage relationships with key stakeholders to ensure satisfaction

● Help coordinate cross-functional testing and "go live" preparations

● Coordinate and support external vendors or contractors as needed

● Participate in post-project evaluations and create recommendations for future projects

● Support the implementation of best practices, tools, and methodologies to improve project outcomes

● Complete other administrative tasks as required

Core Competencies and Experience:

● 2+ years of project experience, ideally including digital transformation projects and/or in an e-commerce environment

● Understanding of project lifecycle stages and project management methods (waterfall and agile)

● Exceptional organisation and problem-solving skills

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

● Understanding of the software development lifecycle

● Keen interest and basic understanding of technology used to support e-commerce platforms

● Proven experience working with cross-functional teams

● Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines

● Experience working with third-party suppliers and in-house software development teams

● Knowledge of Jira is an asset
