Your Mission: As a Behaviour Support Assistant in a secondary SEN behaviour class, you’ll play a vital role in helping pupils regulate their emotions, engage with learning, and develop the confidence and skills they need to succeed. Behaviour Support Specialist – Use positive behaviour management strategies, de-escalation techniques, and restorative approaches to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment. Classroom Support – Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum, adapting learning tasks where needed, and keeping them focused on their goals. Trusted Mentor – Build strong relationships with students, becoming a consistent, supportive adult they can rely on. Resilience in Action – Remain calm and proactive when faced with challenging situations, supporting pupils to regulate their emotions. Skills Builder – Encourage social, emotional, and independence skills that will help pupils thrive beyond school. We’re Looking for Behaviour Support Stars Who: ️ Have experience supporting pupils with SEND and challenging behaviour, ideally in a School, PRU, or Care setting. ️ Bring strong behaviour management skills and can confidently use de-escalation strategies. ️ Understand the importance of consistency, empathy, and boundaries in supporting young people. ️ Communicate clearly and effectively with pupils, staff, and parents. ️ Hold (or are willing to apply for) an Enhanced DBS check. ️ Are patient, resilient, and passionate about making a difference.
