Contek Recruitment are working with a well-established Precision Engineering company in Wigan, who are seeking machinists and toolmakers to join their team, including CNC Millers, CNC Turners and Toolmakers. My client are a subcontract machine shop for a variety of customers including offshore, jigs and fixtures and have a big impact on manufacturing/servicing of Injection/blow mould tooling. Hours of Work – Mon to Thurs 7.30am to 4.00pm – Fri 7.30am to 3.00pm At least 10 hours overtime available per week paid at time and a half. Toolmaker * Must have experience of plastic injection and blow mould tools. Up to around 5T with use of overhead crane. * Have excellent bench skills including building/stripping of tools and bedding out/polishing and fitting. * Must be proficient on Manual Lathes, Manual Milling Machines, Surface Grinders * Time Served Toolmaker * Reading of Engineering drawings and GA's. * Knowledge of geometric tolerances * Experienced with varied materials including Steels and Aluminium. CNC Turner * Experience of one off’s / small batch work, medium to large size type components that are of high value. * Experience of programming and setting Semi Manual CNC Lathes such as Gildermeister Manual Plus with Heidenhain, Proturn lathes etc. If no experience of these types of lathes then must be willing to be trained up. * Shaft machining up to 2mtrs in length would also be an advantage but not essential. * Can read and interpret engineering drawings. * Knowledge of geometric tolerances. * Able to work unsupervised in an engineering environment. * Have at least 5 years experience with Manual machining. CNC Miller As a CNC Programmer, your duties will include; * Programming, setting and Operating CNC Milling machines using HEIDENHAIN/FANUC/HURCO Controls * Working to tight tolerances * Using 3,4-axis machines * Online programming skills on a variety of parts/tooling
