Interim Building Control Surveyor

Elevate Projects are working in partnership with our London-based client to appoint an experienced Building Control Surveyor on a long-term contract, to ensure that construction projects comply with building regulations and other relevant legal requirements.

1. Plan Assessment

1. Reviewing architectural and engineering plans to ensure they comply with building regulations (e.g., structural safety, fire safety, energy efficiency, accessibility).
2. Advising architects, developers, and contractors on regulatory requirements before construction begins.
3. Issuing plan approval certificates when designs meet legal standards.

2. Site Inspections

1. Visiting construction sites at key stages to check that work complies with approved plans and regulations.
2. Inspecting foundations, drainage, fire safety measures, structural integrity, and insulation.
3. Identifying defects or non-compliance issues and advising on corrective actions.

3. Compliance & Enforcement

1. Ensuring builders and developers adhere to national and local building standards.
2. Issuing notices for non-compliance and, if necessary, taking enforcement action.
3. Assessing dangerous structures and ordering emergency safety measures if needed.
