TRAINEE LAND SURVEYOR COME AND JOIN OUR TEAM Ultimately, you are an energetic individual who likes early mornings, the adventure of different environments, and travelling to different locations for work as no job is ever the same. You will enjoy working outside, as well as indoors and are keen on embracing high end technology. We need you to join our professional land surveying team as we have several new vacancies due to our continued success and company growth. The successful candidate will be given full training and the opportunity for professional qualifications. This is a physically demanding role that involves being on your feet all day when out on site. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of land and measured building surveys including commercial, residential, heritage and the public sector. RESPONSIBILITIES As a Trainee Land Surveyor, you will be responsible for assisting experienced Surveyors on site with all aspects of topographical and measured building surveys. You will be using Trimble and Leica total stations, GNSS and Leica laser scanners. You will contribute to maintaining a high level of health and safety and always conduct yourself in a professional manner. You will need to have an understanding and be able to follow company policies and procedures. Customer service will always need to be at the front of your mind. Communication is another key responsibility for this role. You will have to be able take instructions and clearly share information with others. This could be for working practices/management systems, Health and Safety, team communicating (both on site and back at the office) and liaising with our clients. As such, excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for the role. You will need a flexible approach to working hours and be able to get yourself to the office in Sevenoaks or any site location by 8:30am. Overtime, night and weekend work, is sometimes required as part of this role. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES * Have a full clean UK driving license * A minimum of 5 GCSE’s including Maths & English to Grade C / level 4 * Candidate must be over 18 years of age due to the regular overtime worked over 40 hours per week and employment law regulations * Good at maths, data management, and methodical working methods * Proficient IT skills * Punctual and able to manage your own time * Able to follow Spatial Dimensions health and safety policies and procedures and promote a high standard of health, safety and welfare in the workplace and to members of the public while onsite * Work well within a team * Must have right to work in the UK QUALITIES * Have a positive and enthusiastic attitude * Eager to learn new skills * Good with technology * Like working both outdoors and indoors * Excellent attention to detail and methodical work approach * Super organised * Good at juggling tasks and prioritising * A great team player with awesome communication skills * A desire to show initiative * Ability to stay calm under pressure WE’LL GIVE YOU Health and safety training Full training to be able to use all the surveying equipment, technology, and software Apprenticeships available Structured career path and support working towards professional memberships for RICS and CICES if desired Competitive salary considering age & experience Annual profit bonus Your birthday off work Annual leave starts at 20 days plus bank holidays Company life insurance & pension above the age of 22 Great office location near to the motorway, a beautiful lake and not far from the shops.
