Operational Oversight: Oversee the daily operations of the Critical Care Services, including the effective utilisation of nursing and financial resources, ensuring the department functions within budget while optimising staffing levels and resource allocation.

Patient Experience Improvement: Collaborate with service users to evaluate and enhance the patient experience, incorporating feedback into service delivery and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Quality Assurance: Participate in and lead multi-professional audit programmes, including national audits, ensuring compliance with clinical governance standards and implementing changes based on audit findings to enhance service delivery.

Collaboration and Communication: Maintain effective communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, and support staff to streamline patient care processes and ensure seamless service delivery across departments.

Complaint Management: Actively participate in the local resolution of complaints, coordinating investigations and ensuring that lessons learned contribute to service improvement and patient safety.

Strategic Development: Work closely with the Chief Nursing Officer to provide clinical leadership, management, and operational direction, contributing to the development of clinical service business plans and the delivery of performance targets.

Clinical Governance Participation: Ensure the implementation of clinical governance activities within the CCU, promoting evidence-based practice and contributing to hospital-wide quality initiatives.

Professional Development: Support staff development through mentorship, training, and evaluation, fostering a culture of lifelong learning and continuous professional development within the team.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of clinical expertise and leadership capabilities. You should be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a current NMC registration and a postgraduate qualification in critical care (or equivalent to ENB 100). An ITU qualification is essential, along with significant clinical experience in Critical Care/Outreach and proven leadership skills.
You will have excellent communication skills, enabling you to lead a team and collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals effectively. Your proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement will be vital in driving the development of best practices within the CCU. Additionally, your ability to manage resources effectively while maintaining a patient-centred focus will contribute to our mission of providing exceptional care., * Registered Nurse (RN) with a current NMC registration.
