AWC Staff Services are looking for a Commercial Manager within our clients Electricity Transmission team. They build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Their teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity. What will you be doing? Do you have experience in managing and assisting the Commercial Department and project team to maximise profit and reduce risk, providing on hand experience and mentoring? You’ll be responsible for MQS, QS and AQS roles across the portfolio of projects, assisting with the ongoing implementation/integration of commercial acumen and skills with all site personnel whilst developing lasting relationships with Business Unit and Project Managers. You’ll compile information for preparing reports and claims to agreed timescales, whilst referring to the project risk management plan for thorough, accurate, high-level risk assessment ensuring compliance at all times. What you’ll bring * Qualification in Quantity Surveying Graduate or “graduate calibre” * Contract experience, capturing site records for variations and valuations; supporting a project team * Subcontract Management & Cost / value reconciliation * Contract costing & Contract law * Excellent negotiating, interpersonal & communication skills * Analytical skills & financial awareness * Planning & Project Management * Knowledge of the Electricity Transmission industry would be desirable! * Full UK driving licence – this role will include UK site visits and travel to other regional offices What’s in it for you?
