Job Description

Our client delivers a range of essential infrastructure services within the water, energy, transport and telecommunications sectors in the UK & Ireland.\\n\\nThey are now recruiting for a Commercial Manager to work on their OHL and Substation contracts across the UK, based primarily out of our Birmingham or Nottingham office.\\n\\nAs the Commercial Manager you will be part of our client's Transmission & Distribution team, you will actively manage and assist the Commercial Department and project team to maximise profit and reduce risk.\\n\\nAs the Commercial Manager your responsibilities will include:\\n\\n * Compile relevant information for preparation of reports and claims to agreed timescales including and not limited to notice of escalation\\n\\n * Assist with the ongoing implementation/integration of the commercial acumen and skills with all site personnel at all times whilst developing lasting relationships with Business Unit and Project Managers.\\n\\n * Constantly refer to the project risk management plan for thorough, accurate, high-level risk assessment, and the individual project contracts to ensure compliance is adhered to at all times. Oversee the monitoring of the risk register and any related documentation to ensure its accordance with the plan\\n\\n * Responsible for the commercial team to be built consisting of MQS, QS and AQS roles across the portfolio of projects.\\n\\n * Actively increase knowledge of commercial issues and contract law with a view to managing compensation events/variations/claims across the team and portfolio to ensure consistently and learning points are noted.\\n\\n * Actively promote, suggest and develop processes for increased accuracy and efficiency minimising time journal and reconciliation tasks.\\n\\n * Liaison with the Managing Quantity Surveyors and Quantity Surveyor(s) to ensure appropriate commercial cover is maintained to ensure a consistency win the department and project management\\n\\n * Oversee the production of monthly project financial and forecast to complete reports for analysis with Finance staff and project teams\\n\\n * Compile the weekly forecast for all projects and agreed with HOF ahead of submission to MES.\\n\\n * Work within established Company policies and procedures.\\n\\n * In accordance with our certification to the standards OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 each employee will comply with and contribute to the effective implementation of the current Morrison Energy Services Transmission Networks Ltd :- Environmental Policy.
