Responsibilities
- As an HGV Technician you will be responsible for carrying out general maintenance and repair work on the company's fleet of vehicles and trailers, ensuring that all vehicles are in safe working order.
- Your role requires you to execute repairs to the highest standards while conducting in-depth engineering work and diagnostics.
- You should be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a close-knit team.
- Itβs crucial that all repairs are performed in accordance with current Health and Safety legislation and company policies.
- Additionally, you will need to safely operate all relevant equipment, machines, and tools, and complete all associated documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Key Skills & Knowledge
- The ideal candidate should hold education to City & Guilds standard in Mechanical Engineering or possess an equivalent engineering discipline.
- Previous experience as an HGV Mechanic in a similar role is essential.
- While it is preferable to hold an HGV C+E licence (Class 1) and a current ADR, these are not mandatory.
- You should demonstrate a strong working knowledge of vehicles, trailers, workshop plant, and equipment, with the ability to troubleshoot effectively.
