Travel Program Optimisation Business Analyst
Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 GBP

If you’re inspired about taking on the responsibility of working with a team that is focused on developing a best-in-class meetings and events program for tech company employees, we are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Travel Program Optimization Business Analyst, to bring their leadership and expertise to support the travel technology strategy of the Amazon Travel and Events program.
We are looking for data-driven Business Analyst that excels in think big and bias for action to support our Travel and Events (AT&E) organization. In this role the individual will work closely with AT&E program managers, travel operations teams, sustainability experts and business leaders to identify opportunities for improvement and shape strategic recommendations. This role will actively support creation of analytics architecture across our business including tracking our travel spend, carbon and compliance. This role requires both the technical expertise and travel program knowledge to understand peculiarities of the travel and carbon data.
A successful candidate will be a curious innovator who is technically minded and passionate about delivering excellence for a wide range of needs. A successful candidate will also have a deep knowledge of business intelligence solutions and possess excellent analytical abilities, and have the ability to work with technology, program, and business teams. They will have passion for data and analytics, be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, an ability to work in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment and driven by a desire to help Amazon make the right decisions in travel spend and leakage management, sustainability and T&E compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Data with Actionable Insights Serve as a point of contact to prioritize and deliver effective data and actionable insights that create narratives and respond to ad hoc data needs to drive investments and program optimization in collaboration with Amazon program stakeholders.
- Report Generation and Narrative Building Generate visually clear analytics and reports with supporting call outs and narratives to inform strategic decisions for AT&E program teams (Travel, Sustainability, Compliance).
- Solution Requirements for Reports & Dashboards Generate solution requirements for the design, development and maintenance of scaled, automated, user-friendly systems, reports, dashboards, etc. Ensure a precise definition and drivers behind stakeholders\’ objectives to deliver relevant analyses and solutions.
- Travel System Configuration Work creatively with Travel Technology and Sustainability suppliers to ensure systems are configured in the correct way to pull optimal travel reporting.
- Build and Anticipate Solutions Be forward thinking and creative to solve for frequent and anticipated requests using the array of tools available to us at Amazon and create automation to increase efficiency.
- Continuous Improvement Support continuous improvement of AT&E program strategy and current status by driving system integrations, quality framework applications that improve data visualization, data quality and integrity.
- Build Partnerships Partner and collaborate cross functionally and cross divisions with other Amazon organization to ensure our integrated platforms are exchanging data correctly and with purpose, meeting Amazon standards for security and privacy
Experience Required
- 5+ years working with Travel data and/or systems analytics
- Experience with managed travel program metrics for policy, savings, and sustainability
- Strong understanding, and daily use of, Excel and visualization tools, including Amazon QuickSight
- Strong organizational skills and capacity to prioritize in a complex, fast paced environment
- Communication and business-to-technical interpretation skills
- Strong story- telling-through-data knowledge and skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with carbon data and other sustainability metrics
- Experience working with SQL, data API’s and data mapping
- Exposure to the travel and events industry and/or technical tools used
- Experience communicating with customers, technical teams, and management to collect requirements
- Good project management skills
Job Requirements
- Ability to travel up to 20%.
- Work location: US or LON
- Requirement: Office based 5 days/week
