Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Project Manager for an exciting 6-8 month FEED project within the oil and gas industry, UK based.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management of a team of Engineers and project control staff to deliver assigned projects
- Direct and manage the project delivery of designated project, from Sales handover to final closeout
- Develop and define the project scope, setting goals and deliverables that support the business objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
- Lead the development of detailed project plans and associated project control documentation collaborating effectively with the project planner and documentation controller
- Act as a single point of contact for the allocated project
- Effectively communicate project requirements and expectations to team members and stakeholders
- Liaise with project stakeholders through the lifecycle of the project
- Estimate the resources required to achieve the project goals
- Interpret client change requests and draft, review, update and submit corresponding Variation Order Requests (VOR), seeking commercial compensation in both cost and time extension
- When required, negotiate with other department managers for the cost and time of resources
- Assess, plan, manage and sponsor the procurement activities of the project, providing sanction, as required and in line with Company financial controls and delegated authority levels
- Assess and determine the requirement for additional resources, either staff and/or 3rd parties and participate in the recruitment, as necessary, during project lifecycle
- Manage by setting and reviewing project expectations with team members and other stakeholders
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
- Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team
- Approve project documents for completeness and accuracy to company procedures/ standards
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in managing engineering or technical projects.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate teams.
- Solid understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Experience in risk assessment, problem-solving, and decision-making.
- Familiarity with British (BS), European (EN), or relevant industry standards.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
- Experience in engineering, construction, or technical industries.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and practices within a project environment.
