Your mission
As our first Talent Partner at Heat Geek, you’ll take ownership of all things Talent at Heat Geek as we enter the next exciting chapters of our growth. Your mission will be to ensure we attract and hire the UKâs best talent, in order for us to scale quickly, but thoughtfully and with great purpose. Youâll also play a leading role in building the foundations of our Talent and Cultural infrastructure to pave the way for years of ambitious but sustainable growth to come.
What will the role look like?
This is very much a start-up Talent role, as we look to transition from our Founder-led recruiting approach towards a more scalable and efficient way of building a world class team for the long term. Youâll be incredibly hands-on, owning talent sourcing, as well as the full recruitment life cycle. Youâll partner closely with hiring managers, providing expert advice and talent market insights as we scope our ideal candidate profiles and build out our future headcount plans. Youâll also be our go-to internal expert for candidate referrals, employer branding and the ongoing management (and iteration) of our talent technology stack. As a key part of this role, you will also collaborate closely with our leadership team on a range of creative projects relating to scaling and positively evolving our culture as we grow.
Your profile
We think you’d be great for this role if…
-
Youâve spent at least three years recruiting for high-growth (ideally early stage) businesses, with at least some of that time working as part of an in-house talent team.
-
You have hired extensively for both technical and non-technical roles, ideally across a range of seniority levels.
-
Youâre excited about the challenge of hiring non-standard and atypical roles – some of which will be âfirst of their kindâ – and always approach your work with a deep sense of curiosity and a problem-solverâs mindset.
-
You understand how to build thorough, trusting and successful Hiring Manager partnerships (including with Senior Executives) – you have proven experience being part of role-scoping discussions and know how to effectively push back when necessary.
-
Youâre fluent in the modern recruiterâs toolkit, with deep proven experience with the âbasicsâ (LinkedIn Recruiter, creative cross-platform proactive sourcing, and ATS management) and ideally a forward-thinking approach on how to leverage cutting edge Talent Tech and sensibly applied AI to supercharge your day-to-day.
-
Youâre comfortable with the basics of technical talent sourcing. You know your way around GitHub and can work with technical hiring managers to spot key patterns and trends.
-
Youâve used (or are excited to use) organic techniques to source talent that isnât looking⌠such as hackathons, meet-ups, community events and more.
-
You donât want to work in a silo! We see our first Talent Partner as a key cross-functional team member and a real champion of Heat Geek culture (internally as well as externally), so youâre someone who enjoys getting stuck into bigger picture projects relating to culture and employee engagement.
If you’re on the fence about applying…
Research shows that men apply to jobs if they meet ~60% of criteria, but women and those in traditionally underrepresented groups tend to only apply if they check all the boxes. If you think you have what it takes but don’t meet every single point above, please still get in touch. We’d love to chat and see if you could be a great fit.
