Depot and Operational Manager Reports to: Regional Manager Depot: LWC Aylesbury Overview Having full P&L accountability for a multi-million pound turnover business, responsible for delivering the companies ambition in terms of sales and profit growth.

Responsible for leading, inspiring, and line managing all depot staff including Office Manager, Distribution Manager, Warehouse Manager, Sales Support team, Distribution and Office staff.

Working alongside the Sales Manager, Account Managers, and Wine Development Managers to drive.

sales, and ensure that all key requirements of our customers are delivered.

To manage the day to day running of the depot, focusing on exceptional customer service balanced continually with distribution efficiency.

Accountable for defining, agreeing and implementing the depots Customer Service Charter.

Interrogating and analysing our systems and data to monitor performance and plan improvements.

Defining and delivering in conjunction with the Regional Manager the short, medium, and long term plans for the development of the depot and the business.

Main Duties Ensuring that the depot is fully compliant with all aspects of health & safety, and that every member of staff is clear on their responsibilities.

Ensuring the depot delivers on all its requirements in terms of vehicle and fleet management and protects our operators license.

Responsible for all personnel within the depot, ensuring that the appropriate training, development, and reviews are completed.

Leading and inspiring the team, creating a culture of customer service excellence and a great team spirit.

Setting budgets and targets for the depot and each department, and ensuring the plan is delivered.

Monitoring and checking weekly sales and trading patterns, and adjusting the plan accordingly.

Analysing our systems and the data available to control margin and costs, ensuring the net profit ambitions are achieved.

Ensuring stock and cash integrity is maintained at all times, and that the right processes and procedures are in place to protect company assets.

Reviewing and adjusting the route planning, and optimisation to ensure that the depot continually adjusts the depots network to meet customer/business requirements.

Reviewing credit and finance across our customer base, making the right commercial decisions in conjunction with the Sales Manager, Commercial Manager, and Regional Manager.

Maintaining high standards in the depot, and at every customer touch point .

To manage the warehouse productivity & performance .

Knowledge and Experience: Experience of working in a fast paced distribution and warehouse environment.

National CPC holder would be advantageous.

Ability to lead and direct a large multi-functional team through a tiered management structure.

Experience in the use of computer systems and all Windows based applications, ERP systems, and the clear ability to analyse multiple sources of data.

Excellent communication skills both upward and downwards, with the ability to tailor the message for the audience.

High calibre leadership skills, with a proven track record of delivery against sales and profit targets.

Experience of delivering exceptional customer experiences with a can do approach to distribution.

Specialist knowledge of the Drinks Industry and the market place would be advantageous.
