Job Description

Senior Estimator – Highways\\nLocation – Manchester\\nFull-time, permanent position\\nSalary – £65,000 to £80,000\\n * Car Allowance £5,500 (plus mileage allowance)\\n * Profit Related Bonus\\n * The company operates a Workplace Pension Scheme with The Peoples Pension\\nHolidays: 35 days (including bank holidays)\\nUp Front Recruitment is seeking a Senior Highway Estimator.\\nAbout the Company\\nThe company has a strong forward order book with long-term framework contracts and is seeking to enhance its existing commercial team. The role provides an opportunity to join a highly respected and company with a direct influence on its continued growth and development. Based primarily in Bolton and Stockport it has sites throughout the North West.\\nRoles and Responsibilities:\\n * Manage and support the two existing and the Contract Administrators\\n * Negotiation with clients on existing Direct Award Frameworks.\\n * Prepare and submit estimates for Highways Schemes both from existing schedules of rates and/or first principle using estimating software\\n * Negotiate with clients including site meetings, measurements and agreeing method of working.\\n * Engage with clients in ECI for future schemes\\n * Production of programmes (MS Project) and method statements\\n * Work with the Procurement Manager developing key supply chain partners\\n * Lead the Company’s Bid’s on PQQ/Framework submissions.\\n * Prepare the Social Value Matrix of all commercial bids\\n * Preparation of Estimators handover files to site teams detailing build up/ assumptions/ targets\\n * Assist Commercial team with Compensation Events build up\\n * Work closely with the MD in leading the Commercial team on the Company’s Marketing and Business strategy\\nEssential Skills:\\n * Estimating or Senior QS role\\n * Experience in Causeway / Candy or similar estimating packages\\n * Good communication and negotiate skills\\n * Experience of a commercial/engineering role in the highways industry\\n * Working knowledge of NEC and JCT Contracts and SMM7\\n * Ability to lead and develop a team\\n * Able to work to strict deadlines\\n * Clean driving licence\\n * Working knowledge of MS Office and MS Project\\n * Experience in writing method statements\\nDesirable Skills:\\n * Knowledge/Qualification of construction health and safety\\n * Experience in Bid Writing\\n * Experience of using take-off software\\nIf this sounds like an opportunity for you, apply now.
