About Us

Eryri National Park Authority (ENPA) protects the natural beauty, wildlife, and cultural heritage of Eryri National Park. Covering 823 square miles, the park is home to the highest mountain in Wales, the largest natural lake in Wales, and over 26,000 people.

We are now looking for a Director of Planning and Partnerships to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week.

The Role

As Director of Planning & Partnerships, you will be responsible for setting the overall vision, direction and culture of a dynamic Directorate, focusing on the broad range of activity relating to the 2 statutory plans that the Authority produces – Cynllun Eryri (the National Park Management Plan) and the Local Development Plan. You will be responsible for the Authority’s statutory planning function but also ensuring that a wide variety of partners and key stakeholders are fully engaged in helping us deliver on the wide variety of work that the Authority is involved in.

Ensuring plans are implemented in a way that fully contributes to our statutory purposes and socio-economic duty, you will also advocate for the National Park Authority at both a local and national level.

About You

To be considered as the Director of Planning and Partnerships, you will need:

  • The ability to communicate fluently in both Welsh and English
  • Significant experience in town and country planning
  • Extensive leadership and management experience
  • A degree-level qualification in a planning-related subject, a certified qualification accredited by the Royal Town Planning Institute, or significant directly relevant experience
