Location: Pretoria/Tshwane – Centurion, South Africa
We are looking for an experienced and practical technical person to support our Operations Supervisor in the inspection and carrying out of structural and horticultural maintenance of war graves and memorials throughout South Africa.
To be successful you will be able to demonstrate the ability to solve problems, work as a proactive and positive member of a small team, be a confident and effective traveller and able to carry out a variety of maintenance tasks, to include, but not limited to; fixing headstones, repointing, erecting structures, e.g., fences, retaining walls, refurbishing bronze features and horticultural maintenance. You will also be effective at sourcing and purchasing local materials and also engaging and managing local labour as required.
- A clean driving licence Code (EB, EC or EC1) (Must be able to tow a trailer with GMV greater than 750kg’s) and ability to drive safely
- A current valid passport or the ability to apply for a passport
- A PDP (Public Driver’s Permit)
- High level of written and spoken literacy in English and your first language
- Relevant experience working in a technical position
- Proof of permanent right to work in South Africa Desirable
- A working knowledge of horticultural and structural practices is preferable but not essential as training will be provided
Health and Safety Advisor
Location: Based out of our Larnaca office, Cyprus, with significant travel to Africa
Contract Type: 18 Months Fixed Term
Salary: Circa €42,848 per annum, depending upon experience
Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week Mon – Fri
What you’ll be doing
As a Health and Safety Advisor you will be the champion of safety standards, working with colleagues to ensure that our Global Standards are put into place effectively.
You will travel extensively across Africa and other areas, putting in place action plans and ensuring training is developed and, where required delivered.
To be successful within this position you will ideally have experience within the amenity horticulture, construction or other similar industry. Demonstrating your technical knowledge in electrical safety and machinery safety you will raise standards of health and safety.
What you’ll need to have
- NEBOSH National or International General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or;
- NEBOSH Health & Safety Management for Construction or International Certificate
- Train the Trainer Certificate or equivalent
- You must be able to speak fluent English
