Responsibilities

We are seeking a customer focused and driven Learning and Development Business Partner to join oursuccessful People team. The L&DBP will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating learning and development programs that enhance the skills and capabilities of all colleagues. This role involves collaborating with various departments to identify training needs, developing customised learning solutions, and ensuring the effective delivery of training programmes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in not only delivering training across all levels of the business, but also taking ownership of embeding a culture of continuous learning and development. You will work with the People Team and business leaders to produce and analyse reporting, identify requirements to enhance colleagues skills and knowledge in line with business priorities.

*This role can be based in either Glasgow, Newcastle or Camberley office*

As Learning & Development Business Partner you will be responsible for:

  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of a comprehensive training strategy ensuring strategic alignment of training and development with business goals.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and training requirements.
  • Design and develop engaging learning materials, including e-learning modules, workshops, and training manuals.
  • Create & facilitate instructor-led virtual training sessions including Management online training sessions bi-monthly across all levels of management up to Senior Leadership level.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback and performance metrics.
  • Provide coaching and support to colleagues to enhance their learning experience.
  • Conduct Induction Training and manage all mandatory training.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure training content is accurate and relevant.
  • Conduct assessments and analysis of key data and trends to define performance, skill and knowledge gaps and recommend training and development to drive individual and company-wide capability and performance improvement.
  • Partner with managers to develop their team members through career pathing, development plans and support them with annual performance review process.
  • Keep track of and take ownership of all learning and development across all departments.
  • Ownership of the Apprenticeship Academy creating & delivering short soft skill sessions, collaborating with training providers and maintaining the levy account.
  • Assist Bid and Sales Teams with any L&D requirements for new bids or contract wins.
  • Provide reports & analysis for mangers.
  • Ensure skills and training matrices are kept up to date.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and emerging technology and learning methods.

Qualifications

For development purposes the following knowledge, skills and experience are required.

  • Strong understanding of HR policies and procedures and how L&D interacts with talent and engagement.
  • Proven experience in learning and development, instructional design, or a similar role.
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Strong understanding of learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Proficiency in managing & analysing data, and reporting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Experience of creating & delivering management training.
  • Experience in designing e-learning courses.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office platforms and LMS systems.
  • Ability to prioritise own workload and the flexibility to deal with shifting deadlines.
  • Experience of a similar role in a technical or engineering company.
