We\’re looking for an experienced Buyer to join our purchasing team and support our project managers in delivering materials to customer sites on time and within budget.This is a great opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where you\’ll be negotiating with suppliers, managing your own projects, and playing a key role in ensuring our fire safety projects run smoothly. A typical day might involve reviewing door specifications before they go into production, negotiating prices with suppliers, or sorting out urgent on-site material requests.Key responsibilities include:Managing independent projects for bespoke fire door orderingCreating bills of quantities from estimates to forecast material requirementsReactive purchasing for on-site orders and urgent requestsThorough reviews of bespoke door orders before productionBudget monitoring and spend analysis to maximise gross profitSupplier liaison and relationship managementPrice negotiations and supplier performance reviewsProject-based purchasing within agreed budgetsMeeting delivery deadlines for site requirementsResolving account queries and order issuesTender and rebate reviews to secure optimal pricingWhat we\’re looking forWe need someone with solid buying experience – ideally with a construction background, though this isn\’t essential.
