Requirements:

You will have BSc (Hons) Degree in Environmental Health, or equivalent and the Royal Environmental Health Institute Diploma or other professional body qualifications.

Responsibilities:

You will work in either the Food and Health and Safety Team, or Environment/Public Health Team in the Regulatory Services section of City Development.

Within the Food and Health and Safety Team you will be required to undertake the full range of food law activities, occupational health and safety interventions, and responding to licensing applications.

Within the Environment/Public Health Team, you will be required to carry out the effective implementation, support and enforcement of Environmental Health legislation relating to Public Health and Pollution Control, as well as providing responses to development management (Planning) and licensing applications.

The Individual:

You will have general experience in all fields of Environmental Health with knowledge in food safety and health and safety field and/or in the fields of environmental protection and statutory nuisances, air quality and public health.

You will have good communication skills (both oral and written) and good computer and presentation skills. You will have IT/analytical skills and good reporting writing skills as well as the ability to deal with conflict.

You will have the ability to work as part of a team, work on own initiative, work to deadlines with minimum supervision and the ability to deal methodically and innovatively with problems to achieve a positive outcome.

You will be willing to work varied and flexible hours as and when required.
