What would a typical day look like for you? Youll work as a Senior Analytics Engineer in our Data & Analytics Team within our Technology & Digital Development team which is core to our innovative digital transformation journey and delivery of the corporate strategy objectives.
Youll lead the technical development and execution of a wide range of strategic data analytics projects that are complicated in nature and require specialist analytics skills.
The role involves modelling complex, undocumented data structures to produce high quality insights to drive business value and leading small development teams to execute projects.
With this role its key to have continual, proactive learning as new technologies and techniques become available in the market.
Youll need to stay informed about emerging AI technologies that can enhance and improve our business operations within your key fields of responsibility.
Your skills: Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role: A significant level of hands on experience as an Analytics Engineer with strong knowledge in designing, developing, and delivering end-to-end data analytics projects.
Ability to design reusable and sustainable data models that produce key strategic business insights.
SME level knowledge of at least 2 BI analytical applications (Tableau, Alteryx, QlikSense, SSRS etc.) Experience of design, development and deployment of data warehouses or relational/analytical/multi-dimensional data marts.
Excellent planning and organising skills with ability to work to tight deadlines.
Strong service delivery ethic with a focus on quality, competency and accuracy.
Excellent communicator who is able to translate and adapt message for different stakeholder groups including technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to think logically, a high level of numeracy and the ability to interpret data.
Preferred: 3 rd Level degree in IT or related STEM discipline Good working knowledge of Python Experience with Hadoop and Spark Working experience with IBM DataStage Knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS, data bricks, snowflake How we work Our belief is that we are Better when Together and want to balance the benefits of teaming up in person with flexible working where possible.
We will be supportive and flexible to your circumstances, so for roles that offer a hybrid option we ask colleagues to attend their base location a minimum of 3 days a week so they can connect, collaborate and learn together.
The other 2 days can be worked either from home or another bank location.
Some of our roles are customer facing which means that its really important to be able to work with customers face to face and hybrid working isnt appropriate.
