We are seeking a skilled Electrical Commissioning Engineer to support the delivery of a high-performance data center project based in London. You will play a critical role in ensuring all electrical systems are tested, commissioned, and delivered to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance.
This role requires a strong understanding of mission-critical environments, as well as hands-on experience with LV/MV power distribution, UPS systems, generators, and associated control systems.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and execute commissioning procedures for electrical systems including switchgear, UPS, generators, PDUs, STS, and lighting.
- Perform functional testing, inspections, and validation in line with commissioning protocols and industry standards.
- Work closely with design, construction, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of systems.
- Review and verify documentation including method statements, risk assessments, test scripts, and commissioning records.
- Identify and resolve issues during commissioning, escalating as necessary to ensure timely project delivery.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health, safety, and quality regulations.
- Support client witness testing (CWT) and final handover documentation.
- Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of commissioning experience in data centers or similar critical infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of LV/MV systems, UPS, generators, and power distribution.
- Familiarity with commissioning standards (BS7671, CIBSE, Uptime Institute, etc.).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- ECS or equivalent electrical certification (preferred).
- Right to work in the UK.
