Job Description
Robert Gordon’s College is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring full time PE Teacher to contribute to its sector leading and exciting 3-18 PE and Sports Curriculum and Co-curricular programme. This post will be available from the new school year, in August 2025.
The PE Department has 14 members of Physical Education staff including the Head of Physical Education, an Assistant Head of Department and a Director of Sport. In addition there are 5 full-time Sport coaches, 4 swimming instructors and multiple ad-hoc coaches who all contribute to the delivery of the core curriculum for which the Head of PE is responsible, and the Co-Curriculum for which the Director of Sport is responsible.
PE and Sport is a major part of life at RGC. As well as our PE, Swimming, and Strength & Conditioning facilities at our Schoolhill campus in the city centre, we have a 39-acre PE and Sport ground at Countesswells to the west end of the city. Full participation in Saturday sport leading a team is essential. Experience of hockey coaching would be advantageous but not essential.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the development of PE at the College through an ability to undertake successfully the following tasks:
- Teach Physical Education from Nursery to S6, including certificated PE courses;
- To create an effective teaching and learning environment which offers support and encouragement to pupils;
- Implement National Guidelines;
- Be actively involved in co-curricular activities and full participation in Saturday sport;
- To maintain appropriate records of pupil performance and assessment;
- Parent Liaison;
- Be expected to contribute to the wider school community.

The Salary will be based on the national SNCT scale, together with the Robert Gordon’s Allowance above SNCT scale.
