Main Responsibilities • Working as part of a 4 shift pattern with a cover shift (5 shift fitters) • Working alongside shift electrician both days and nights, first responders to breakdowns. • Working cover shift once every 5 months. • Utilise Pemac CMMS to receive work, log work histories and allocate spares to the job. • Perform preventative maintenance checks on various assets. • Identifying failure modes of equipment and make recommendations to prevent further failures. • Repair and maintain rotating equipment such as pumps, rolls, gearboxes, agitators, pulpers, fans, refiners etc. • Installation of new rotating equipment including accurate alignment. • Follow site safety rules • Machining on lathes, milling machine, pillar drill etc. • Welding and basic fabrication. • Assist with writing risk assessments. • Repair and maintain pneumatic systems. • Repair and maintain hydraulic systems. • Repair and maintain steam plant. • Drive vehicles such as a forklift truck, cherry picker, scissor lift (training available) Preferred Experience/skills • Recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship; • Computer literate with practical experience of CMMS systems. • A minimum of 5 years industrial experience • Self motivated individual with a positive attitude • Ability to fault find and think on their feet. • Knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques. • Willingness to accept change and learn new skills
