Blossoms at Bloxcidge House is looking for a Third in Charge to join our recently opened nursery based in the Langley area of Oldbury. The Nursery offers high quality full day care for children aged 0 to 5 years. Open 7.00am-6.00pm 51 weeks of the year. The nursery will be heavily supported by the curiosity approach to learning, with an emphasis on the natural world and what we can learn from the world around us. The role will be room based, with specific roles delegated according to skills and abilities for example, SENCO or Safeguarding lead. The job is for 40 hours a week, across 5 days, with the occasional over time. You must be: * Confident and a self – starter with the ability to successfully lead a team in achieving the best outcome for children. * Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Ofsted requirements, having achieved good/outstanding Ofsted results. * You will have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to lead and inspire your team, providing support and guidance where needed. * You will have outstanding customer service skills with a focus on setting your nursery apart from other local settings by providing exceptional services in all aspects of the business. * You will be committed to continuous improvement in all aspects of the nursery and able to implement change when required. * Experience/ knowledge around the Curiosity approach. What you’ll be doing * Lead, mentor and inspire a team to deliver exceptional care and education to all children in our care * When required, act as Designated Safeguarding Lead at the nursery, holding overall responsibility for the day to day running of the nursery and management of safeguarding and child protection policies * Develop and maintain strong partnerships with colleagues, parents and/or carers, as well as other professionals, to meet the needs of each child * Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a positive, happy and safe working environment * Promote the nursery to both current parents, and potential customers, to support retention and ongoing occupancy growth * Engage with the Local Authority to understand the local offer, to support practice in all areas of the nursery What we’re looking for * Full and Relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification (essential) * Previous experience working within an Early Years setting – ideally as a Third in Charge, Room Leader, Early Years Educator or similar * Confident decision maker, with previous experience providing support and leadership to others to enable staff in fulfilling their roles and responsibilities * Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the wider legislative requirements for working with children * Ability to build trust and strong working relationships with both colleagues and parents * Ability to use a variety of communication techniques with both children and adults How to Apply Please apply with your CV.
