What we’re looking for…

The Reliability Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of systems and equipment at the Milton Keynes site. This role involves applying engineering principles and methodologies to identify, analyse, and mitigate risks that may affect up time, performance and safety. The Reliability Engineer plays a critical role in the design, testing, and maintenance phases, focusing on improving overall equipment reliability and lifecycle management of assets.

Your responsibilities will include…

As Reliability Engineer your responsibilities will include;

Reliability Analysis and Testing:

  • Perform reliability modelling, analysis, and testing to identify potential failure points and design improvements.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for failures and system inefficiencies, recommending corrective actions.
  • Utilise reliability tools like FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), FTA (Fault Tree Analysis), and RCM (Reliability-Centred Maintenance).

Predictive and Preventive Maintenance:

  • Develop and implement predictive and preventive maintenance schedules based on reliability data.
  • Optimise maintenance strategies to minimise downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Ensure that maintenance practices are aligned with the overall reliability objectives of the business.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Collect and analyse data from systems, equipment, and operational processes to monitor performance and reliability.
  • Produce reliability reports and performance dashboards to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Analyse system performance trends and apply corrective actions when necessary.

System Design and Improvement:

  • Work with the project team to ensure that reliability is a primary consideration during the development and implementation of new equipment or systems.
  • Recommend design modifications to improve asset reliability and reduce operational costs.
  • Conduct stress testing and reliability testing to ensure new systems meet reliability standards.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, production, quality, and engineering, to implement reliability strategies.
  • Provide technical support to field teams to solve reliability-related issues.
  • Train staff on reliability best practices and processes.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Support the business continuous improvement programme Brilliance in the Making (BiTM), through implementation of asset care best practices to improve reliability.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve reliability processes and methodologies using business tools.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in reliability engineering.
  • Drive a culture of reliability within the organisation.

What you’ll bring…

The successful candidate will have;

  • Minimum HNC in relevant engineering discipline with 3+ years of experience working in reliability engineering or related fields.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field desirable
  • Lean manufacturing and six sigma.
  • Experience with reliability software tools and data analysis techniques.
  • Familiarity with reliability standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 55000) and methodologies such as FMEA, RCM, and FTA.
