Role Overview

As an MEP Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems on large-scale projects. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and commercial awareness to ensure projects are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Construction & Procurement

  • Support the development and execution of the Building Services Strategy Plan to align with business objectives.
  • Assist in managing the MEP technical and commercial aspects of project bids, ensuring compliance with Pre-Construction Manual Procedures.
  • Provide guidance on tendering and awarding MEP packages, ensuring alignment with contract procurement strategies.

Project Execution & Delivery

  • Take overall responsibility for MEP project delivery, providing leadership, motivation, and technical oversight.
  • Ensure temporary electrical requirements are assessed and implemented per company guidelines.
  • Support resource planning for key building services personnel to ensure successful project execution.
  • Oversee the coordination and approval of builders’ works drawings to meet project timelines.
  • Manage the tracking of equipment and plant from approval through procurement, FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing), delivery, and quality inspections.
  • Ensure MEP teams implement quality management systems (QMS), snagging procedures, and progressive inspections for final project sign-off.
  • Oversee the development and execution of site-specific Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), commissioning strategies, and handover plans in collaboration with MEP contractors.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience managing large-scale and complex MEP projects.
  • Strong understanding of the MEP supply chain market and industry dynamics.
  • Proven experience in all project phases, including estimating, pre-construction, installation, commissioning, and handover.
  • Ability to demonstrate technical, commercial, and leadership skills to deliver multiple MEP projects.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of health & safety policies, including live energy practices.
  • Commitment to implementing quality assurance systems (QMS), ITPs, and commissioning plans.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or MEP-related disciplines.
  • Membership in a professional institution such as CIBSE, CIOB, or IEI (or equivalent).
  • IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety Management training.
  • Additional certifications in Project Management, Planning & Programming, and Live Energies/Arc Flash Training are advantageous.
