ROLE – CAD Engineer LOCATION- Newport TERM- Permanent SALARY- £30,000 – £35,000 per annum, dependent on experience My client is a manufacturer of specialist products for a variety of sectors, and they are looking to take on a Design Engineer on a permanent basis in the Newport area.Graduates are also being considered for this role. The Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similarPrevious experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environmentBe proficient using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorksGood theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerancesHave the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary teamHave the ability to carry out mechanical calculationsAny previous experience of working with process machinery or steel / metal materials would be desirableExcellent communication skills both verbal and writtenProficient using MS OfficeExcellent organisational skills and time management skills The Design Engineer role will involve:Working within the current engineering team with other Design EngineersProducing 3D designs using Autodesk Inventor CAD software and 2D designs with AutoCADLiaising with manufacturing providersBeing involved in final assembly of productsCreating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plansUpdating 3D models and drawingsInputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMsChecking drawings for sign offWorking in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects If you are interested in this position, please apply with an up to date CV as soon as possible.
