Our client is committed to empowering people to lead rich and fulfilling lives across a wide range of residential and supported living services. We are currently searching for a capable and proactive HR Advisor to join their People Team on a 12-month fixed-term basis, providing maternity cover and supporting managers across the South of England.
This is a key maternity cover position within a busy and collaborative HR function. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to Service and Operations Managers, offering high-quality, timely advice on a wide range of employee relations (ER) matters. This includes supporting and coaching managers through investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, long-term sickness cases, and other complex people matters.
You will manage a varied caseload (typically around 30 cases), facilitate training or listening sessions where required, and contribute to broader People Team projects and data analysis initiatives. Regular travel to services (approx. 2–3 days per week) will be required, with the remaining work carried out remotely.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR generalist who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is confident operating with a high level of autonomy.
Location: This is a home-based role, with frequent travel to services across the South of England. Candidates must be based in the South and hold a full UK driving licence.
Essential Criteria
- CIPD Level 5.
- Significant HR generalist experience, particularly in employee relations.
- Confident supporting managers in a multi-site environment.
- Excellent working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritise and manage a high volume of ER casework.
- Confident using HRIS and Microsoft Office applications.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Willingness and ability to travel 2–3 days per week.
The Candidate
- Proactive and solution-focused with strong influencing skills.
- Experienced in building trust and credibility with operational teams.
- Able to provide calm, clear guidance during complex or sensitive situations.
- Healthcare or social care experience is desirable, though not essential.
- Comfortable delivering HR support in a hands-on, people-centred organisation.
- Confident leading initiatives and contributing to team-wide projects.
Interview Process
