Job Description

🧪Software Test Engineer – Medical Software 🩺

📍 Hybrid (UK-based) | Full-time | Permanent

💷 Up to £45,000

We are working with a forward-thinking company developing cutting-edge software solutions in the medical and healthcare sector. They're seeking a Software Test Engineer to help ensure the quality and reliability of software that directly impacts patient care and clinical workflows.

🔧 What You'll Be Doing

  • Design, write, and execute manual and automated test cases

  • Test across UI, API, database, and backend layers

  • Work in an Agile team alongside developers, product owners, and other QA engineers

  • Use tools like Postman, SoapUI, SQL, Azure DevOps and other Automaion tools

  • Perform exploratory, functional, and non-functional testing

  • Collaborate with the wider team on test planning, bug triage, and release readiness

  • Provide mentorship and share best practices across teams

🧠 What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years' experience in software testing, including automation

  • Strong knowledge of test frameworks and test planning

  • Hands-on experience with:

    • SmartBear TestComplete

    • Postman / SoapUI (API testing)

    • SQL for backend verification

    • Azure DevOps or similar for CI/CD

  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and full SDLC processes

  • Experience in regulated environments (e.g., medical, finance, aerospace) is a plus

  • ISTQB certification or equivalent is advantageous

  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a cross-functional team
