As a Maintenance Engineer at our Wrexham site, you\’ll play a key part in supporting high‑automation warehousing and material handling systems, ensuring operational efficiency through a blend of planned maintenance and responsive engineering support.

You\’ll be working in a fast‑paced, team‑focused environment, supporting fully automated machinery and distribution infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and responsive repairs on automated systems
  • PLC fault finding and working with sensors, metal detectors, conveyors, belts, bearings, and motors
  • Fault finding and basic repair of electrical and mechanical components
  • Site facilities and infrastructure maintenance as required
  • Monitoring and management of CMMS systems
  • Ensuring health & safety standards are met across all engineering activities
  • Supervising and coordinating with on‑site contractors
  • Using Permit to Work systems for compliance and safety

Time‑served apprenticeship and formal electrical qualification (e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds)

Experience in an automated or distribution/warehouse environment highly desirable

Strong skills in:

  • PLC fault finding
  • Conveyors, belts, and drive systems
  • Pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Sensors and metal detectors
  • Motors, gearboxes, and bearings

Ability to work independently and within a team

IT literacy and familiarity with digital maintenance systems

Good level of written and spoken English

Knowledge of refrigeration systems and basic food hygiene (advantageous, not essential)
