Location : Wrexham initially, then Daresbury after 6 months due to HQ move

About The Role

Their technology focuses on recovering and rubber materials through advanced techniques. As part of continued growth, they’re seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join the small engineering team.
The company are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design and development of high-pressure jetting safety systems. You'll be responsible for taking projects from concept through to operational validation, working with both internal teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the mechanical design of high-pressure processing systems including safety enclosures
- Develop comprehensive engineering drawings and documentation
- Conduct engineering calculations and analysis for safety-critical systems
- Create detailed designs using CAD (SolidWorks)
- Manage projects from conception to completion
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations
Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Significant experience in designing pressure vessels or similar safety-critical systems
- Strong background in industrial safety systems and regulatory compliance
- Proficient with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Experience with ASME, BS, or similar pressure vessel codes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience managing complex technical projects
- Chartered Engineer status preferred
