A Midlands based games studio is currently looking for a Dev-Ops Engineer to work on helping them move their source control, asset storage databases, servers and services to their own on-site servers. You’ll be working on a hugely successful PC/Console title in the process, making sure their servers output the best quality.

As the Dev-Ops Engineer, you’ll be the expert in the team in this field. Working closely with an experienced team, you will be responsible for optimising, adjusting and managing their usage of Microsoft Azure, GitHub and Unity Version Control. This is a highly autonomous role and plays a key part in the studio. The most important thing about this hire is the ability to help move their build pipeline from Jenkins to GitHub Actions. So previous experience of this is vital to the role.

This role can be 100% remote working (indefinitely), or hybrid working if you prefer. The studio has a preference for candidates based in the UK and most EU countries with a time zone 1-2 hours of the UK.

(Please note, we are only considering applications of those with Video games experience for this role, please only apply if you have past or current games studio experience and have worked on titles)

Requirements

  • At least 2 years’ experience in the games industry
  • Experience with Windows Server, MSSQL, Azure and Azure Data Explorer (Kusto)
  • Experience with managing on-site high-availability servers, including security compliance
  • Experience with Jenkins and / or GitHub Actions (or similar)
  • Experience of modding in your spare time would be a bonus!
  • Any experience of Unity would be a bonus but not essential
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating live code or games you’ve worked on would be a bonus
