Technical Account Manager – Food & Beverage – Scotland, Cumbria & Northumberland
Salary: £Competitive
Bonus: Up to 30%

Location: Remote (Key locations: Edinburgh, Glasgow, Cumbria & Northumberland)
Position Summary
As a Technical Account Manager – Food & Beverage, you will be responsible for defining objectives and planning activities, that maximise performance of accounts predominantly within the Processed Food sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in setting SMART personal and business goals and objectives.
- Actively participate in problem identification and process improvement.
- Show initiative and innovation in achieving objectives and goals to meet established and expected standards of performance.
- Deliver agreed sales targets and service levels.
- Manage the relationships with assigned accounts, focusing on the customer service appropriate for that business. This should include:
1.Customer staff training for the safe handling of chemicals.
2.Involvement in the production of hygiene schedules.
3.Offer and contract design, management/monitoring and negotiation.
4.Profit Modelling and profit optimisation.
5.Completion of customer management/territory coverage plan.
- Utilise the “Value Selling” approach to grow profitable business and maintain long term customer relationships.
- Utilise company and customer reporting systems.
- Follow company and customer policies and procedures.
- Identify and develop new business to maximise growth opportunities, including:
1.Develop detailed plans to ensure new business opportunities are fully developed, including value selling of Knowledge Based Services.
2.Grow existing account sales using gap analysis, cross range selling and value selling of Knowledge Based Services.
3.Optimise offers including spend reductions, application and supply optimisation.
4.Prospect new customers, either independent or with Key Account Groups, and develop to profitable live customer status.
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Experience of working as a Hygiene Manager, Technical Sales Manager, QA Manager, etc. within the Processed Food sector (Essential).
- Knowledge/experience of manufacturing, processes, products and customers within the Processed Food sector.
- Application knowledge within the Processed Food sector, including CIP, OPC, chemical applications and equipment systems.
- Knowledge and understanding of the concept of ‘optimization’ and ‘value selling’.
- Qualification in a job-related discipline (Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, etc.) (Desirable).
