Instrumentation Engineer
Outside IR35
3 days a week (in office)
We are looking for an Onshore Instrumentation Engineer, to be based in Kingston Upon Thames, supporting a carbon capture and storage project that is a key to the UK's Governments target of achieving net zero emissions by 2050.
Please note that this position is for 22.5 hours per week (3 days)
Skills required:
- Degree qualified engineer with considerable experience in onshore instrumentation.
- Provide specialist expertise in performing/optimising Instrumentation design ensuring minimal cost and complexity in compliance with the contractual and safety requirements.
- Prepare the technical documentation for instrumentation elements material and services requisitions and prepare the technical evaluations according to internal procedures.
- Prepare Instrumentation technical/ installation specifications, datasheets, drawings and scope of supply.
- Contribute to Vendor control valves and safety valves sizing calculations validation and validate Vendor measurements elements sizing calculations.
- Ensure Instrumentation 3D modelling design activities by engaging with other disciplines.
- Participate to P and ID mechanization and F.A.T. activities, Vendor workshop.
Tasks:
- The Engineer executes the activities within his area of responsibility, ensuring the compliance with the QA/QC and HSE requirements
- Prepare Instrumentation elements (tagged items and bulk material), quantities for cost and erection works estimates
- Support Discipline Lead to define man hours and cost estimates
- Review Client technical documentation and requirements
- Coordinate subcontracted engineering activities and control subcontracted engineering documents
- Define engineering design basis and guidelines
- Prepare the technical documentation for Instrumentation elements material and services requisitions and prepare, according to internal procedures, the technical evaluations
- Provide technical support to Project Team
- Optimise Instrumentation design ensuring minimal cost and complexity in compliance with the contractual and safety requirements
- Prepare Instrumentation technical specifications
- Prepare Instrumentation data sheets, Instrumentation installation specifications, drawings, BOQs and MTOs
- Authenticate Vendor control valves and safety valves sizing calculations
- Validate Vendor measurements elements sizing calculations
- Provide technical and engineering support to construction Team
