Exciting opportunity for an individual with strong experience of working within a Capital Markets/Loan Agency related Business Development role to join a rapidly expanding financial organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for originating and managing client relationships and will work with internal business development and service line colleagues to drive new business generation and increased revenue, through the implementation of targeted business development initiatives.
Responsibilities include:
- Playing a central role in originating new business opportunities in line with the relevant business strategies.
- Achieving and exceeding business targets, including identifying and assisting in creating / implementing new BD initiatives.
- Identifying and winning new business spanning capital market segments (mainly in UK & European market).
- Identifying cross-sell opportunities, working collaboratively with other sales team members across Global Funds, Private Client, Corporate Services and Regulatory and Compliance Services, to drive new sales from existing clients.
- Growing the business' reputation as a trusted provider of high-quality services with private debt firms, loan origination sponsor community, arrangers, banks, institutional investors and other allocators of capital via targeted marketing campaigns.
- Developing and managing a productive intermediary and third-party services provider network (particularly onshore and offshore law firms, regulatory / start-up consultants, fund platforms, banks, auditors, technology vendors and (where appropriate) other service providers).
- Obtaining a detailed understanding of both current and potential clients, with a focus on long term client relationships and profitable revenue generation.
- Gathering feedback from clients in order to understand their satisfaction levels and areas for improvement, and incorporating it into sales strategies and product development
- Positioning the business to capitalise on upsell and cross-sell opportunities with existing clients.
- Leading commercial negotiations in line with agreed parameters.
- Complying with procedures for the maintenance of pipeline information, call reports, proposal templates, service / fee proposals and related financial analysis.
- Ensuring that internal systems are regularly updated.
- Working with colleagues in other regions to build a collaborative sales culture.
- Building the business' brand to generate quality leads via:
- Attendance and participation at industry events
- Branded events
- Thought leadership articles – value-added content-led sales and marketing campaigns
- Remaining up to date / maintaining a full understanding of services offered by the Company (within capital markets).
- Evaluating and managing risks associated with sales activities, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies in all sales activities.
Skills & experience:
- Strong proven business development track record in business-to-business services (including a minimum of three years in a similar financial services environment, with capital markets experience).
- Experience across Loan Agency, Paying Agency, Escrow and other Corporate Trust product lines.
- Established network of relevant contacts/client relationships.
- Proven experience of working with Managing Directors/senior management in the development of client relationships across the private debt industry (including sponsors).
- Effective time management and organisational skills.
- Experience of working with CRM (Client Relationship Management) systems (experience of working with Salesforce beneficial).
- Ability to work under pressure and to agreed timeframes.
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong IT Skills (i.e. knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
