Allergens Lead
Are you an experienced Technical Manager in Food/ drink manufacturing looking to work Monday-Friday and have a work/ life balance?
Here at Campden BRI, we provide global consultancy services for global food safety and quality, with this role being a credible expert on allergens troublsehooting within manufacturing. You'll get to work on varied projects, adding value through sharing your knowledge across the food & drink industry and gaining personal development/growth by becoming an allergens technical expert.
Our team of specialists ensure that products are safe and fit for purpose. Food quality management uses tools, such as HACCP and auditing, to describe processes, analyse what could go wrong, put procedures in place to prevent things going wrong, check the systems are working, and identify actions to take if things do go wrong.
Position
- Support and advising clients in the area of food allergens, including answering technical inquiries from clients and colleagues, interpretation of testing results where required, and the provision of consultancy, information, training, and advice.
- Proposing new allergen services, and suggesting improvements of current services to expand and promote regulatory and allergen portfolio.
- Preparing quotes and proposals.
- Establishing, managing, and developing processes and applying control in the form of improvement and root cause analysis.
- Support quality assurance and customer service development.
- Actively contributing and supporting the Safety and Quality Team Lead in the development of the team within the allergens field.
- Attending client meetings, conferences and site visits where required.
Requirements
- Graduate level qualification(s) in science, law or related subjects.
- Proven experience of food allergen management within food manufacturing.
- Experience with food production (such as alignment with HACCP), and the theory and practice of testing, specifically using ELISA, DNA-based or mass spectrometry techniques.
- Strong understanding in the field of food allergen testing, evidenced through production of publications, contribution to training and/or involvement in relevant research.
- Experience of large-scale project management.
- Customer service-oriented and committed to providing an outstanding level of service to all.
- Consultative and commercial mindset to find solutions for client problems around allergens.
