Duty Manager

Here, at The New Inn, we are looking for an experienced duty manager to join our team.

You will be working alongside an already skilled and supportive Duty Manager and General Manager.

In this role you will be expected to work an average of 40 hours a week. It is essential you are flexible on a rolling rota and will be required to work weekends. It comes with an excellent salary and good holiday.

The job itself consists of the daily running of a busy village pub. We are open 7 days a week from 10:30 – 23:30. All normal front of house duties will be expected, assisting other staff members and making sure our customers have a thoroughly enjoyable experience while at The New Inn.

You will oversee making sure the business runs smoothly and to deputise for the General manager when they are not present.

From opening in the mornings, overseeing the cleaning of the pub and letting rooms to managing that day’s team in their duties, running a professional lunch service, restocking and preparing for the evenings and closing the business down.

Cash handling will be involved and therefore being numerate is a must. We have an attractive function room and skittle alley as well as our bed and breakfast rooms, so experience in running letting rooms would be advantageous. Breakfast will very soon be available at the pub and so you will also need to be available to be rota’d in for this.

You will be a confident person, meaning approaching tables and making the first move on your customers as they enter the building will be second nature, as well as natural people manager and a very strong communicator, making sure hand overs to your colleagues are thorough.

There are also physical elements to this job, the movement of stock and being on your feet for the length of your shift, you should be physically fit and able.

Necessary skills:

· Must be numerate.

· Good grasp of the English language, written and verbal.

· Must be confident to approach customers and not stand back from situations.

· Experience in hospitality at a good level, essential.

· Positive you can bring fresh ideas and hard working attitude to the team
