Role Overview
An exciting opportunity exists within this well-regarded hedge fund platform to contribute to the development of the Partner Fund Business.
The selected candidate will serve as an ambassador for the firm, bringing extensive expertise in hedge fund strategies research and talent acquisition in allocator and platform roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development & Sourcing
- Operate as a key member of the Partner Fund Business Development team.
- Work closely with the Head of Strategic Initiatives to develop and expand the Partner Fund Strategy, capitalising on market opportunities in launching and raising capital for new funds.
- Build a pipeline of potential partner fund candidates by engaging with allocators, banks, recruiters, and legal firms.
- Leverage and expand professional networks to identify high-potential portfolio managers.
- Clearly articulate the firm's value proposition to potential candidates and recruiting partners.
Due Diligence & Onboarding
- Lead and refine the due diligence process for Partner Fund candidates.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of candidates' backgrounds, references, strategies, risk management, and track records.
- Assess the fundraising potential of partner funds, engaging early-stage investors to gauge interest.
- Guide candidates through the onboarding process, supporting deal negotiations and documentation.
Capital Raising & Investor Relations
- Assist Partner Funds in early-stage fundraising efforts and provide ongoing support as needed.
- Develop strong relationships with allocators and gain insights into investor preferences.
Strategic Business Development
- Monitor market trends to identify new business opportunities and maintain the firm's positioning in the sector.
- Conduct competitive analysis and contribute to the development of strategic presentations.
- Provide insights into the evolving hedge fund landscape and assess emerging investment opportunities.
Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure that all business development activities align with risk, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in financial markets, ideally within a hedge fund, seeding firm, or allocator role, with recent experience in a platform setting.
- Expertise in leading due diligence on portfolio managers and investment strategies, with experience presenting recommendations at the Investment Committee level.
- Strong networker with a commercial mindset and a proven ability to source and evaluate emerging investment managers across long-short equity, event-driven, and credit strategies .
- Established relationships with fund managers, investors, and consulting firms allocating to hedge funds.
- Demonstrated experience in high-calibre talent acquisition.
- Background in portfolio management, research, or trading is a plus.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to identify opportunities and challenges in the business landscape.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and with credibility.
- Analytical mindset with strong quantitative and presentation skills.
